Amazing people, and place - Rating 5/5

My husband and I stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights. The first night the inn was out of power due to a storm, but it did not stop the wonderful service and the food was amazing! I am gluten free and they had wonderful meals that would fit my diet restrictions and made sure each day that we had everything we needed.Elaine and the rest of the staff were very helpful and super nice and went out of their way to make us feel at home. We loved staying here and if are ever back in the area will make sure to stay there again. They are like family. I strongly recommend you check out The George and the Dragon and if you can't stay there at least go for a meal, you won't regret it!

Fantastic Stay - Rating 5/5

Stayed 3 nights for a short break, accommodation was fantastic, large luxurious bathroom with roll top bath and separate shower. Room had four poster bed and was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on. The food was excellent and the portions large. Treacle sponge on the menu the last night was an added bonus. The pub is just down the road from Aysgarth falls with lots of villages within a short driving distance or walking if that’s what you like. There’s plenty of parking and nothing is too much bother for them. We will be back it’s a great base for walking in the upper dales

Wonderful traditional inn - Rating 5/5

Stayed over whilst walking the Herriot Way. Lovely pub, very friendly owners, nice food (and beer) and nice comfortable and quiet room.

Lovely stay - Rating 5/5

We stayed at the George and Dragon for one night during a weekend celebrating our wedding anniversary. Our room was beautiful, clean and very comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant which was lovely and very good value. Breakfast was also top class. We were made to feel very welcome and would certainly stay here again if in the area.

Love this place - Rating 5/5

This is our 2nd time staying at the G&D. We love it. It's owned and run by a mother, daughter & son. The daughter and son work tirelessly in the business and are so friendly with all customers, that's why we returned. The rooms are very spacious and comfy. We didn't eat in the restaurant this time but it was packed solid both evenings. We sat outside with the beautiful views and the sounds of livestock in the opposite fields. We will definitely be back
